AUTUMN TO REMEMBER: OCTOBER OVERVIEW

This year autumn started really great! We’ve been a part of one big event – WOLF congress.

Time flies! We can’t believe that almost two months has passed by since we’ve been on WOLF as one of the sponsors. Also, we are so proud that we can say that our CEO Maria Dikanović Lukić was one of the panelist on the panel discussion.

On WOLF 1.0 we had a chance to listen such an inspiring and motivational short speeches named Pep Talks, panel discussions and interviews. Throughout those two days, everybody shared such an amazing stories on stage. We can’t wait to be there again next year.

On the other hand, besides the WOLF, we did cover some other topics this October. We talked about the EU and some great news regarding the travel to the USA.

On 8th and 9th of October, the European Youth Event took place in Strasbourg.
The European Youth Event (EYE) brings together at the European Parliament in Strasbourg thousands of young people from all over the European Union and beyond, to shape and share their ideas on the future of Europe.

The event aims to encourage youth to participate actively in the European democratic life and provide offline and online platforms where young people can become change makers.

This year they even connected Young European Ambassadors from the Eastern Neighbourhood & the Western Balkans. They engaged with young people from the EU and discussed the future of Europe together.

Also, in October, European Commmission adopted its 2021 Enlargement Package. This year, the package provides a detailed assessment of the state of play and the progress made by the Western Balkans and Turkey  on their respective paths towards the European Union, with a particular focus on implementing fundamental reforms, as well as clear guidance on the reform priorities ahead.

„We provided a detailed assessment of the progress made in the Western Balkans and Turkey, and where work remains to be done. We have to maintain a credible enlargement process. This is a two-way street: The new methodology is a merit based approach. It puts a stronger focus on fundamental reforms, such as rule of law, fundamental freedoms, economy and functioning of democratic institutions. Our partners need to address them, in the interest of their citizens and to advance on the EU path. And they need put aside their differences. On the EU side, we need to deliver on our commitments. The EU is not complete without the Western Balkans. It's time we come together and unite in building a stronger Europe“ said Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission.

The news that was the most important one for us, was definitely that Croatia officially joined the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). To be clear – that means that travelling to the USA from now on is so much more easier.

You know that we have a strong connection with USA and we're happy to say that our partner Trans Atlantic Market Development is based there. So, we can say that our partnership will be that much easier.

The point is - if you are planning a business or tourism trip in the United States, all you need to do is fill out an ESTA application form before traveling and that’s it!
